Laurie Johnson has spent her entire legal career with Boje, Benner, Becker, Markovich & Hixson, LLP, starting as a law clerk with the firm in May of 2000. In 2002, Laurie became an Associate Attorney with the firm following her graduation from the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis (now known as the IU McKinney School of Law) and her admission to the Indiana Bar. As an Associate Attorney, Laurie gained vast experience and knowledge in many areas of law under the guidance and mentorship of the firm’s past and present senior partners. Laurie specifically focused her time as an Associate Attorney assisting partners and clients in complex litigation, business and real estate matters, as well as appeals. In addition, Laurie has handled a majority of the firm’s personal injury practice since 2002. In 2016, Laurie became a partner at the firm. Laurie focuses her practice on assisting clients in Hamilton County and surrounding counties in general civil and business litigation matters, personal injury, estate planning, probate and estate administration, and real estate. Laurie also represents multiple small and closely held businesses in central Indiana. In addition to her legal practice, Laurie is a key member of the firm’s leadership team and she plays a significant role in managing the firm’s business and operations, giving her a unique perspective in assisting her business clients with practical and creative solutions for business management and approaching business legal matters.
Laurie has extensive experience in representing clients before the Indiana Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. From 1997 to 1999, Laurie interned at the Clerk of the Indiana Court of Appeals, Supreme Court, and Tax Court, where she gained substantial knowledge of Indiana appellate practice and procedure. Since becoming an attorney in 2002, Laurie has represented clients in both civil and criminal appeals, including appeals in which she has successfully challenged lower court decisions in the Indiana Supreme Court on transfer.
Laurie is a lifelong resident of Hamilton County and has practiced law for over two decades in central Indiana. Laurie is known for her diligent advocacy on behalf of clients and her common-sense approach to problem solving. Laurie and her husband live in Hamilton County, Indiana with their children. Laurie focuses her personal time on family life, which includes attending and traveling to many school and club athletic events, and spending time with friends and extended family.
