Carl Markovich joined the firm as a law clerk in 1997, became an associate attorney in 1999 and made partner in 2003. Carl’s primary practice areas are family law, criminal defense, and juvenile delinquency matters. Carl also practices in personal injury claims and estate planning.
Carl graduated with honors from Purdue University in 1995, earning two B.S. degrees in Financial Planning and Consumer Affairs. During his time at Purdue, Carl served as an officer in Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He was also admitted to the Kappa Omicron Nu National Honor Society. Carl graduated cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis in 1999.
Carl has been an active leader in the Local Bar and the community. Within the Hamilton County Bar Association, he served as Treasurer (2014–2015), Secretary (2016–2017), Vice-President (2018–2019), and President (2020–2021). He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Indiana Public Defender Council. Carl sits on Hamilton County’s Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative steering committee, the goal of which is to improve outcomes for youth in the juvenile justice system. For his dedication to juvenile defense, Carl was honored with the prestigious Gault Award in 2020 by the Indiana Public Defender Council, recognizing his exceptional advocacy on behalf of juvenile clients. Carl previously served on the Noblesville Youth Baseball board of directors. He coached over 30 youth sports teams, and he remains active in supporting local athletics. He and his wife of 28 years have three children. They reside in Noblesville and attend Genesis Christian Church.
